Ted Nugent State of The Union, A Republican congressman says he’s invited rocker Ted Nugent, who has referred to President Barack Obama’s administration as “evil, America-hating,” to the State of the Union address. A Texas congressman is bringing a special guest who hails from Michigan – musician and gun rights advocate Ted Nugent – to Tuesday’s State of the Union address by President Barack Obama.

U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman of Texas announced on his website Monday that Nugent would be his guest at the speech.

“I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House chambers to hear from President Obama,” said Stockman, a Republican. “After the address, I’m sure Ted will have plenty to say.” Stockman and Nugent share a Michigan background. Stockman, 56, was born in Bloomfield Hills and graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak.

He previously represented a Texas district for a two-year term in the 1990s. He was reelected last year.  Nugent has been making plenty of political news over the last year. Last April, two Secret Service agents met with him after he remarked at a National Rifle Association convention that, “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.” Nugent said the remarks were not intended as a threat.
