Don Johnson gets $19M in a lawsuit

Don Johnson gets $19M in a lawsuit over Nash Bridges,  Don Johnson gets $19 million in a lawsuit for his share of profits from his hit show “Nash Bridges,” according to a Feb. 11 Deadline report. According to Deadline, after litigating since 2000, Rysher Entertainment, the company that co-produced the series, finally paid the actor $19 in January 2012 to settle the ongoing profit share dispute. Don Johnson gets $19M in a lawsuit against the company which co-produced his series, 'Nash Bridges' in 2010.

Johnson sued Rysher Entertainment for not living up to their contract. Johnson claimed that his contract entitled him to 50% of the show’s profits if Nash Bridges ran for over 66 episodes. However, Rysher Productions appealed the ruling, which was would have awarded Don Johnson $23 million in profits for the show, plus an additional $28.5 million in interest. Johnson could have appealed the case again to the California Supreme Court but it appears the two parties have finally come to an agreement. A court document states that Johnson received $19 million from the production company for his share of the Nash Bridges profits.

The payment was made in January, after which Don Johnson signed document bringing the dispute to a close.

"Nash Bridges" aired on CBS from 1996 to 2001.

Johnson is best known for Nash Bridges and Miami Vice but he has also made some notable big screen appearances. He was in Machete with Danny Trejo and recently starred alongside Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio in Django Unchained.
