Andrew Bynum injury: Center practices, still not close to joining Sixers on court, Andrew Bynum participated in a 5-on-5 scrimmage with the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, the team confirmed on Saturday. There was one report that Bynum practiced that leaked out Friday, but given a lack of pomp or other corroboration, no one was sure it was true. But it was. And according to coach Doug Collins via USA Today Sports, it wasn't even planned: Bynum just kind of jumped in and asked if he could play. He did, off and on during the scrimmage.

MC Hammer arrested in obstructing officer case, Rapper MC Hammer launched a string of tweets Saturday with his side of the story two days after he was arrested in northern California for allegedly obstructing an officer.

Among his tweets, Hammer said, apparently referring to the arresting officer, that he was asked whether he was on parole or probation before the man tried to pull him out of his vehicle Thursday night.

Police in Dublin, east of Oakland, said Hammer was in a vehicle with expired registration and he was not the registered owner.

Rex Scouten Dead: Former White House Chief Usher Dies At 88,  Rex Scouten, who served 10 first families as a Secret Service agent, White House chief usher and chief curator, has died.

The Richard Nixon Foundation says Scouten, who lived in Fairfax, Va., died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 88.

Truman's administration and continued through Bill Clinton's presidency. Scouten guarded Truman for four years, then became part of the first Secret Service detail assigned to a vice president with Richard Nixon.

Reeva dad guilt trip on Blade, The father of slain South African model Reeva Steenkamp said Oscar Pistorius will have to live with his conscience if he is lying about how he shot his lover.

Olympic athlete Pistorius, who runs on prosthetic blades, claimed during a bail hearing last week that he gunned down Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day after mistaking her for an intruder.

“There are only two people who really know what happened, and that’s Oscar Pistorius and the Lord,” the victim’s dad, Barry Steenkamp, told South Africa’s Beeld newspaper. “It doesn’t matter how much money he has and how good his legal team is, he will have to live with his conscience if he allows his legal team to tell lies on his behalf.  “But if he is telling the truth, then maybe I can forgive him one day. If it didn’t happen the way he said it did, he must suffer, and he will suffer .
