Toni Braxton Retires From Music, Toni Braxton's twenty-year music career has come to an end. Toni Braxton has quit music business after realising she no longer feels passionate about her music career. The singer said that she will no longer be recording music as she appeared on Good Morning America on Friday.

She said: ‘It's not affecting me, making me feel that thing I've always felt when I perform. It's leaving me. I'm not sure what's going on in my life. Maybe a female mid-life crisis? My heart isn't in it anymore. I hate to say that.’She also told TheGrigio.com that she may embark on a tour but isn’t keen on producing fresh stuff.

The star - who released her sixth studio album Pulse in 2010 - said: ‘I'm just not going to do any albums anymore; maybe touring occasionally here and there because I love performing, but not as much as I did in the past. But no new projects.’

Toni – who showed off her amazing figure at the Red Dress show on Saturday - is promoting her new TV movie Twist of Faith.

The film is about a single mother who is the lead singer of a small gospel choir and falls in love with an Orthodox Jewish man.

She stars alongside David Julian Hirsh and Mykelti Williamson, who is best known for his role as Benjamin Buford Blue in Forrest Gump.

Toni told the publication that she would like to branch out in her future acting ventures. She admitted: ‘I would like to play a lesbian. I don’t know why. And do a whole make-out scene and the whole thing; just something completely different than people would expect from me. Not a lipstick lesbian, either.’

Her nine-year-old autistic son Diesel makes his acting debut in the film, and while he could have had a larger role, but she says she didn’t want to make him feel under pressure.

Toni explained: ‘We had originally talked about him playing my son in the movie but I thought it was just too much for him. He’s autistic, high functioning, but still I thought it was too much his first endeavour.’

Aside from Twist of Faith, fans of Braxton can see her on We TV’s reality series Braxton Family Values, where she stars alongside her four sisters and mother.

But it seems she resentfully appears on the programme because she thinks it makes her less of a star. She said: ‘I hate to have reality star behind my name. That’s just not what I wanted to be when I grew up.

‘For me it’s challenging because the artists that I grew up to be; me, the late great Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, we were taught to be aloof. No one needs to know about your life. But now in the age of reality you have to talk about your life and expose it.’

In December 2012 Toni was hospitalised with blood clots and needed urgent treatment following complications brought on by Lupus.

In January year that she was also in medical care suffering from the potentially deadly autoimmune disease, that killed her uncle.

The performer also suffers from a narrowing of the blood vessels in her heart.
