Boston Red Sox outfielder Bryce Brentz accidentally shot himself in the leg when he was cleaning his gun. The baseball player experienced a bullet that traveled through his left leg from one side to the other. Ben Cherington, the Red Sox general manager, adds, "He was cleaning a gun and it accidentally went off. The bullet went into his leg and out the other side. 


The 24-year-old outfielder ended the 2012 season in Triple-A Pawtucket, having earned a .290 batting average with 17 homeruns in 127, split between Double-A Portland and the Pawtucket team.
